Microsoft To Update Reader To Beat Copyright Worries

Weekend editions of the Financial Times said that Microsoft will launch a new version of Reader, its e-book software, on Aug. 8, in a bid to counter online copyright worries.
The financial paper said that new version of Reader will feature greatly enhanced copyright protection facilities, and will link with
a Microsoft-branded e-bookstore at barnesandnoble.com .
Microsoft only launched its first e-book back in January, but the technology was billed as a next big thing by company officials, who
promised users the ability to carry a library in their pocket, using suitable personal digital assistants (PDAs) and palmtop PCs.
Microsoft's Web site is at http://www.microsoft.com.
