3Com Beta Testing Exclusive

3Com's Beta Test Services has sent word about an exclusive beta test for BetaNews visitors. Details regarding the test are very sketchy due to the specific applicants the company is looking for. This is an excellent opportunity for people interested in consumer level products. This product is designed for families and will be the center of
attention in any household. This will be a long term beta test. Applicants must be willing to continue testing for the next year, however the test will not be labor intensive. Read on to see if you meet the qualifications and for information on how to apply.

Qualified applicants should have the following:

• An available telephone line connection.
• We need families. Households with four or more people preferred. All of those
  using e-mail.

• Owners of Palm or Handspring devices preferred.
• Minimum of 1 PC. Network Interface Card (NIC) a plus but not required. Home
  network would be a major plus.

• Experienced with networking
• Complete Internet Access including FTP, WWW, and E-mail.
• Be familiar with 3Com products and understand modems and networking.
• Be willing to dedicate as much as 10-15 hours a week to the testing.
• Be willing to report on a daily basis your progress with the test.
• Live in the United States or Canada.
• Be fluent in English.

This is a pretty major (and especially cool) test that will continue on for the next year, so be prepared for a major commitment. However as noted earlier, the test will not be extremely labor intensive.
